Dual Monaural USB/DAC CD Player/Digital Pre-Amp
The Do-It-All CD Player
The VRDS-701 does it all. As a dual mono USB digital-to-analog convertor (DAC), pre-amplifier, headphone amplifier, and CD player, this product captures all the information you need to hear music just the way it was intended.
State-Of-The-Art DAC
The VRDS-701 utilizes TEAC's proprietary ΔΣ (Delta Sigma) 32-bit discrete DAC which is comprised of discrete circuitry using field-programmable gate array (FPGA) and incorporating original algorithms on both channels. The end result? Improved signal to noise (S/N) ratio – each channel processes in monaural mode and delivers DSD512 (22.5MHz) native and 384kHz/32-bit pulse-code modulation (PCM) playback capabilities.
Built-In MQA Decoder
With a full MQA decoder built-in, your highest res file formats such as FLAC and WAV will playback with all the quality and depth of the original recording. Great for those seeking a powerful and refined approach to high fidelity home entertainment.
Proprietary VRDS Technology
The pinnacle in CD transport technology, this single-well CD Player utilizes a Vibration-Free Rigid Disc-Clamping System (VRDS) derived from the TEAC’s flagship HiFi line, Esoteric. Incorporating our newly developed Delta Sigma 32-bit discrete DAC and functioning as a preamplifier, the VRDS-701 matches seamlessly with the TEAC AP-701B Stereo Power Amplifier.
UNDERSTANDING VRDS
This TEAC-original CD drive mechanism reduces rotation vibration of the disc itself, as well as unwanted mechanism vibration by clamping the CD to an aluminum turntable with the same diameter and maximizing inertial mass in order to stabilize rotation. Servo current is reduced with the turntable by correcting disc warping and distortion and improving the relative optical axis precision of the pickup and disc pit side. This realizes reduced disc reading errors and creates outstanding audio quality.
The bridge that supports the turntable is built with carefully-selected lightweight materials that are very rigid and do not transmit vibration.
The entire CD mechanism is mounted on the sub-chassis in a semi-floating state to reduce vibration from the main chassis as well as external vibrations.
Audiophile-Level Acoustic Expression
Four TEAC HCLD buffer amp circuits allow different drive modes (fully balanced and parallel), working in-sync with TEAC QVCS volume control for ideal sound quality. The VRDS-701 also features three upconversion settings: 2x, 4x, and 8x.
Built-In Headphone Amplifier
Featuring a dedicated driver that uses a high-output circuit with low distortion, the VRDS-701’s headphone amplifier achieves a high S/N ratio and 2000V/μs through rate, equivalent to a current transmission enhancing output line driver. This will maximize the potential of your headphones so you can kick back and relax in perfect stereo.
Perfectly Timed With Two Master Clocks
Ensure accurate timing and synchronization with dual on-board clocks.
Stable Data Transmission
Using Bulk Pet USB transmission technology, the VRDS-701 achieves constant transmission at a fixed data volume, enabling steady data transmission by smoothing the loads for processing via transmitting computer and receiving USB DAC. Since the audio quality can be altered by changing the load on the computer, four preset transmission modes can be chosen according to the desired audio quality.
